Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS), turbine control systems, SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, field instrumentation, and automation infrastructure. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, OEMs, and contractors to implement control system modifications, software enhancements, cybersecurity initiatives, and system upgrades; develop interfaces between plant control systems and business/environmental systems; support CEMS operations and regulatory reporting; enhance operator graphics, alarms, historians, and data logging; provide guidance and training on control system functionality and new applications; lead control system upgrades and lifecycle projects; analyze plant data to improve efficiency, availability, and performance; support plant cybersecurity and remote access configurations; review OEM software updates and perform validation during outages; participate in root cause analyses and reliability initiatives; maintain documentation and standards; perform duties to ensure safe, reliable operation of the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Controls, Automation Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience with DCS/PLCs/SCADA/industrial automation in power generation or similar
  • Experience troubleshooting complex control systems, instrumentation, networks, hardware and software
  • Knowledge of DCS platforms, turbine control systems, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, Modbus/Ethernet/IP/OPC
  • Experience developing/ modifying/ testing/ commissioning control logic and software interfaces
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, backups, disaster recovery, remote access
  • Knowledge of power generation processes and emissions monitoring (CEMS)
  • Driver's license
  • Ability to work in a plant environment and travel occasionally
