Job Summary
Controls Engineer at Ameristar Perimeter Security: Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred) for manufacturing equipment; develop and maintain HMI/SCADA interfaces; implement automation upgrades; provide on-site electrical/controls support; diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions; lead continuous improvement projects; support integration of robotics, sensors, and vision systems; participate in design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment; develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts; ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, maintenance, and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen‐Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000 strongly preferred)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk View or similar)
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.)
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics and control panel designs
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Experience with robotics, servo systems, or vision systems is a plus
