Job Summary
Controls Engineer at Barry-Wehmilller Design Group: Lead or participate in multi-disciplinary capital projects for clients in the manufacturing spectrum (advanced technology, life sciences, food & beverage, bulk chemical, and bulk gas). Deliver production line and facility layout specifications, support CAD tasks, coordinate start-up activities and client trainings, review specifications and submittals, and ensure alignment with safety, reliability, quality, and cost objectives. Collaborate with MEP engineers, technicians, and project teams, and contribute to the CSI Practice with senior leaders to provide high-quality engineering solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, project coordination, and client relationship development, with potential growth into Design Group Engineering Consultant paths. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in chemical, electrical, civil, or structural engineering from an ABET accredited institution (preferred)
- NICET II or greater in Fire Alarm systems (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
- Experience in Life Safety System Designs and commissioning complex interconnected systems
- Familiarity with design/build engineering and construction
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication including generating reports and conducting group presentations
Desired Qualifications
