Job Summary
Controls Engineer in Denver, CO to design, implement, and manage large-scale automation projects in oil & gas, leveraging Rockwell control systems (PlantPAx) and safety instrumented systems. Lead system architecture and control strategies for scalable solutions, manage schedules and budgets, develop electrical designs and instrumentation, design industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA), define computing infrastructure, lead FAT/SAT and ensure regulatory compliance, and support advanced automation with troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Travel up to 50% for commissioning and client support.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in automation and control systems (oil & gas preferred)
- Strong background with Rockwell Automation; experience with DCS/SCADA systems is a plus
- Expertise in industrial protocols, networking, and system integration
- Experience with electrical design (MCCs, VFDs, control panels) and server infrastructure
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
