Job Summary
Commission and generate graphics for large and small-scale job sites, perform point-to-point checkout, and verify program operation per sequence. Modify architectural drawings in AutoCAD, construct system graphics with point information blocks, and assist with startup, certification, and project turnover. Create programs for computer-based systems ranging from simple AHUs to complex boiler/chiller plants, implement VAV or CV control strategies, and update job-related information including RFIs and as-built records. Correlate labor and material pricing for sales estimating, determine change orders, and provide customer service by developing relationships with end users and delivering onsite technical training. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, four years of systems experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Ethernet networks. May involve overtime, evening, weekend work, travel to job sites, and overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering
- Minimum four years of experience in engineering systems and/or systems service
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, HVAC and electrical concepts and operations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Proficient in using the engineering workstation, including full capacity of the AutoCAD drafting standards
- Proficient in setting up Ethernet networks
- Proficient in using current Windows Operating System for workstation and server applications
- Superb oral and written communication skills
- Mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and create and interpret graphs
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to evaluate urgency of situation and prioritize tasks
- Organized with an attention to detail
- Valid driver license
- May require overtime, evening, or weekend work
- Requires travel to and from job sites for start-up and commissioning
- Requires occasional overnight stays
- On-call as needed to assist with online/onsite service calls
- Requires the ability to carry, lift, move or push up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and may be required to carry, lift, move or push 100 pounds or more occasionally
