Job Summary
Monitor and control building equipment using SCADA while performing service on tenant calls for Variable Frequency Drives, Air Handling Units, and Motor Control Centers. Inspect mechanical systems, install electrical components, and troubleshoot industrial control systems including high-voltage motors and generators. Respond to emergency situations to protect occupants and property, assist during power outages, and conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance. Maintain records, adhere to electrical codes, and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
- Journeyman electrician license from DC, MD, VA
- Must be able to obtain VA license with 6 months
- 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in electrical or controls work in a commercial or industrial setting with equipment and systems similiar to those used on site
- A minimum of five years' experience in SCADA maintenance with thorough understanding of electrical systems, controls, experience in data center or complex mission critical environments
- Proficiency with National Electrical Codes and Local Codes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to respond onsite within one hour in cases of electrical system outages/interruptions
- Must have a strong Electrical Controls background for systems and equipment to include such items as but not limited to: MCCs, Programmable Logic Controllers, VFDs, and electrical Controls
- Must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
- Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems
- Ability to locate and diagnose electrical system deficiencies or failures
- Ability to determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
- Must be able to obtain one (Top Secret Clearance)
