Job Summary
AutoCAD Electrical Controls Designer to join General Kinematics in Crystal Lake, IL. Responsibilities include preparing and revising electrical drawing packages, developing plans, details, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, and related documents; coordinating reviews with electrical engineers and project managers; tracking progress and updating drawings as designs evolve; creating and verifying BoMs; assisting with field markups and as-builts; maintaining project file structures and version control; initiating standard development for drawing consistency; supporting design schedules and equipment lists; converting CAD drawings to other formats; participating in quality control and maintaining drafting standards; familiarity with NEC/NFPA 79/UL508A and electrical design practices is preferred. Pay range is $60,000–$80,000 annually with profit-sharing benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate or AAS in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, or closely related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of electrical drafting experience in industrial projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, including model/paper space, annotation, sheet set management and organization, and Bill of Materials creation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Familiarity with industrial control panel design
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and schedule management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
