Job Summary
Install, program, test, calibrate, and repair building automation and control systems while troubleshooting advanced low-voltage devices and network communications. Configure field devices, create and modify control programming, and build control panels. Conduct functional testing, provide detailed reports to commissioning agents, and analyze system performance data to resolve operational deficiencies. Coordinate with customer IT departments, manage punch-list completion, and train end users on system operation. Provide leadership and mentoring to junior technicians while ensuring all safety procedures, including Arc Flash and Lockout/Tagout, are followed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of Controls Technician experience
- Strong HVAC systems knowledge, including: Air Handling Units (AHUs), Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems, Fan-Powered Boxes, Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Experience troubleshooting low-voltage control systems
- Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits
- Ability to read and interpret: Blueprints, Wiring diagrams, Device data sheets
- Experience utilizing testing and metering equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based software
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Tridium AX/N4 Certification
- Experience with: Distech, Siemens, Schneider Electric, JCI, INET
- Advanced programming and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience with access control and lighting control systems
