Job Summary
Controls & Automation Manager role located in Ogden, UT; leads controls engineers and PLC programmers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and performance management. Oversees software development and integration of telemetry, analytics, and SQL databases; collaborates with IT/OT to ensure cybersecurity and system reliability; develops dashboards for utility usage, production, and downtime tracking; serves as escalation support for electrical, instrumentation, and process-control issues; manages site telemetry, legacy-system modernization projects, and budgets; trains and mentors staff; requires experience with Rockwell PLCs, industrial networking, cybersecurity, and data-history/analytics platforms.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industrial experience
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years of industrial controls and automation experience
- Experience leading or mentoring controls or automation personnel
- Strong PLC experience (Rockwell ControlLogix, FactoryTalk, and Rockwell Plant PAX preferred)
- Experience with industrial networking and cybersecurity
- Experience with data historians and analytics platforms
- Physical requirements include work in underground mining environments and hoisting systems, exposure to hot, humid, dusty conditions, ability to wear PPE and lift up to 50 pounds
