Job Summary
Develop and improve industrial processes by designing and implementing control systems (hardware and software) to enhance production efficiency, product quality, equipment performance, and energy use in a highly automated manufacturing environment. Analyze and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems, implement improvements to optimize production processes and equipment reliability, design and monitor performance indicators, and integrate control systems with company information systems. Provide ongoing maintenance support and resolve process control issues, and develop requirement specifications, high-level system designs, and architecture documentation related to production control systems. Support automation and controls-related projects and collaborate with teams to ensure robust, reliable process automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automated Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant automation or controls engineering experience in an industrial environment
- Experience working with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Modicon, or similar systems, as well as variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- Proven teamwork, communication (written and verbal), organizational, and administrative skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Must be available to be on call and assist personnel during emergencies or critical business needs
