Develop control strategies and algorithms to meet product requirements, translating specifications for software development and verification. Lead dynamic controls testing through planning, lab support, and real-time data analysis using hardware-in-loop methods. Advance model-driven development while collaborating with product management and application engineering to define design strategies. Utilize effective communication techniques to guide team implementation of HVAC control solutions. Requires 1-3 years of control theory experience, proficiency in C++ and Matlab/Simulink, and ability to travel overnight less than 5% of the time. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related)
  • 1-3 years of control theory experience
  • Classical control knowledge (PID control, linear control, digital filtering)
  • System modeling expertise (Proficiency with Matlab Simulink, and optionally Stateflow)
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics
  • Programming skills in C++ with the ability to learn new programming languages
  • Mobility within the office
  • Frequent keyboarding
  • Ability to travel to Trane Business Locations
  • Able to travel overnight; less than 5% of the time
