Job Summary
Coordinate research and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures while developing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiencies. Prepare complex financial information for auditors, IRS, state examiners, and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements. Lead projects for new systems and processes, advise senior management on complex transactions, and analyze financial data to solve administrative problems. This role requires a lead capacity to other accountants on selected projects and may involve preparing state and supplemental reporting. The position is hired on a SuccessFlex basis with a requirement to reside within 35 miles of Nationwide Blvd, Columbus, Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate studies in accounting, finance or business administration
- Four to six years of related accounting experience
- GAAP and/or STAT knowledge
- Functional business area regulatory requirements knowledge
- Complex financial statement preparation
- Consolidation of companies/subsidiaries
- Principles of taxation
- Accounting and/or business computer systems knowledge
- Company organizational structure and products and services knowledge
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze, discover and solve accounting problems
- Ability to interpret financial documents and data
- Ability to analyze and interpret legal requirements
- Project management skills
- Ability to interpret changes in financial reporting and legal requirements
- Ability to formulate company or business area policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and related software using advanced techniques
- Ability to apply accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices to specialized, unique and/or nonrecurring complex problems
- Valid credit and/or background check
- Reside within 35 miles of 1 Nationwide Blvd, Columbus Ohio

- 2 days in office, 3 days remote work schedule
