Job Summary
Controller leads all accounting and financial reporting for two manufacturing facilities, overseeing general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. Responsible for timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, month-end and year-end closes, and development of financial reporting packages, dashboards, and KPIs. Ensures GAAP compliance and strong internal controls, supports cost accounting and manufacturing finance through standard cost development, variance analysis, and profitability improvements, and partners with plant leadership to drive cost savings. Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to guide capital investments and business planning. Manages cash flow forecasting, working capital, banking relationships, debt compliance, and capex evaluation. Coordinates external audits and tax filings, maintains regulatory compliance, and develops a high-performing accounting team while collaborating with operations, procurement, supply chain, and executive leadership. Location: Cameron, WI or Dresser, WI; based at one of the two manufacturing facilities. Relates to inventory traceability and financial controls in food manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing accounting experience
- Experience in food, ingredients, consumer packaged goods (CPG or process manufacturing environments strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (MS Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Familiarity with audit coordination, tax compliance, and internal controls
- Preferred CPA and/or CMA certification
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems
- Knowledge of food manufacturing operations, inventory traceability, and regulatory compliance requirements
