Job Summary
Oversee general accounting functions and supervise staff; manage month-end close with heavy involvement in reviewing account reconciliations and related analysis; review daily AR/AP transactions for the business unit; manage business taxes (sales & use, property, payroll) and identify savings and compliance opportunities; provide operational accounting guidance to the team and engage in accounting-related areas proactively; assist with upcoming project-based initiatives and monitor related finances; participate in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects. The Controller should be collaborative, team-oriented, humble, and proactive, capable of moving between tasks and tackling new challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting
- prior experience in non-profit accounting (501(c)(3) preferred)
- ability to supervise and develop staff
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- capable of independent problem solving and proactive task execution
