Job Summary
Strategic Controller to oversee and optimize financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for a private trucking/logistics group with $100M+ revenue. Leads month-end and year-end close, develops internal controls, prepares financial statements and cash flow analyses, and supports executive decisions through KPIs and profitability insights. Partners with the CEO and ownership, drives budgeting/forecasting, manages working capital and banking relationships, ensures GAAP compliance, and oversees AP/AR/payroll/tax processes. Evaluates and implements financial software and ERP systems to improve tracking and reporting, and collaborates with operations to enhance cost control, efficiency, and profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in accounting/financial management
- 3+ years in a Controller or senior finance role
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards and financial reporting
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning
- Leadership ability to manage accounting staff
- Experience in privately held company with $100M+ annual revenue is a plus
