Job Summary
Hands-on Controller overseeing end-to-end month-end close, audit management, and internal-controls reinforcement in a high-transaction nonprofit environment. Lead policy/process rigor, mentor a small accounting team, and ensure accurate accounting for diverse revenue streams (programs, events, memberships, contributions). Improve reporting structure and ensure subledger-to-GL mappings align with GAAP standards. Onsite in the Los Angeles area with a focus on control maturity, close discipline, and reliable financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Proven, hands-on Controller / Accounting Lead experience with true ownership of close + GL
- Strong GAAP foundation and confidence operating as the technical accounting owner
- Audit leadership experience (you’ve run audits, not just participated)
- People leadership (managed 3+), with a track record of elevating team capabilities
- Able to work fully onsite in Los Angeles
