Job Summary
Senior Controller for a nonprofit overseeing all accounting and financial operations, providing leadership to the accounting team, preparing and reviewing financial statements, coordinating month-end/quarter-end/year-end close, managing audits, ensuring internal controls and regulatory compliance, coordinating donor fund accounting, budgeting and forecasting, and contributing to financial strategy and special projects (e.g., ERP evaluation/implementation). Requires strong GAAP knowledge, nonprofit/retail accounting experience, and ability to supervise staff, collaborate with directors and the board, and present financial information to executives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
- minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting/finance or equivalent combination
- experience with financial reporting & analysis, budgets and project management
- GAAP knowledge (advanced level) and regulations affecting charities
- experience in nonprofit sector and/or retail industry strongly preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- ability to supervise accounting staff and work as part of a team
- ERP implementation and/or consolidation of financial information to mirror audited financials preferred
