Job Summary
Lead all accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, and financial reporting. Manage the monthly and year-end close processes, prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and operational analyses. Monitor cash flow, banking activity, working capital, and short- and long-term cash requirements. Oversee inventory accounting, maintain and improve cost-accounting processes, and analyze product, customer, and project profitability. Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls while managing various tax reporting requirements. Coordinate year-end financial reporting with outside partners and evaluate accounting systems to increase accuracy and efficiency. Supervise accounting team members and develop key performance indicators to help leadership evaluate operational and financial performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least seven years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or Controller-level responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or CMA designation
- Manufacturing, fabrication, construction, HVAC, or related industry experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, job costing, and manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience managing month-end close, budgeting, cash flow, internal controls, and financial analysis
- Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience improving accounting systems, reporting tools, and business processes
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to remain focused on the overall business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate financial information into clear, practical recommendations
- Sound judgment, integrity, and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build productive relationships with leadership, employees, customers, vendors, and outside professional partners
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and collaborating directly with operational teams
