Job Summary
Controller to lead accounting operations for a privately held architecture and engineering consulting firm during a growth phase. Responsibilities include managing general ledger, AP/AR, billing, project accounting, revenue recognition, monthly/quarterly/annual closes, GAAP compliance, cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, collections, banking covenant reporting, and development of scalable accounting policies and internal controls. Will partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making; supervise a team of accounting professionals; coordinate audits, tax compliance, lender reporting, and financial due diligence. Requires 5+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, strong GAAP knowledge, cash-flow management, and advanced Excel/financial analysis skills. Hybrid work environment with growth-focused, leadership responsibilities and direct exposure to ownership.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes
- Proven experience managing cash flow, financial reporting, and operational accounting functions
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities
