Job Summary
Oversee all financial and accounting aspects of the company, balancing bank accounts and general ledger daily while ensuring proper cash flow through review of accounts payable and receivable. Lead a team of roughly seven accountants, mentoring junior members to encourage growth and development. Provide financial outlook reports to advise on strategic decision-making and review Work In Progress reports for construction projects to ensure accuracy and identify financial issues. Work with project managers to review budgets, analyze company and project data, and ensure compliance with government, bank, and customer reporting requirements. Ensure payroll, benefits, and tax payments are made as required, including managing insurance coverages within the company's Captive program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems independently
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of ethics and honesty
- Construction accounting experience strongly preferred; other public or private accounting experience also considered
