Job Summary
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of disbursements, client billing, and cash management. Own the monthly revenue recognition process, maintain general ledger integrity through weekly postings and reconciliations, and manage month-end and quarter-end close procedures including accruals and tax estimates. Lead preparation of financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis while supervising compliance filings, payroll processing, and vendor relationship management. Mentor and manage accountant staff and two interns, driving process improvements for efficiency and scalability. Collaborate with department leaders on performance insights and support client audits and tax preparation. This high-impact role reports directly to the Head of Finance within a fast-growing B2B performance marketing agency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting
- 5+ years experience in relevant professional experience in general corporate accounting
- Public accounting or Audit experience
- Experience or familiarity with GAAP accounting and monthly closing processes
- Experience with NetSuite
- Proficiency in excel
- Ability to drive process improvements in efficiency & effectiveness
- Proven and measurable success in organizational skills and ability to adhere to timelines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, upper management, and external partners, as well as to supervise and guide accounting staff
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate with a sense of urgency for high priority items
- Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and make informed predictions
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods
- Must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication
- Must have reliable internet access
