Job Summary
Controller role leading financial operations for a statewide Christian nonprofit in Virginia. Part‐time, hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite in Richmond) focusing on financial strategy, internal controls, accounting oversight, budgeting, donor fund classification, and multi‐entity reporting; responsibilities include implementing a donor CRM, ensuring GAAP compliance, overseeing payroll and benefits, Form 990 and state filings, and providing financial insights to leadership and the Finance Committee.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Ability to work independently and build processes from the ground up
- Active involvement in a local church
- Agreement with the CEF Statement of Faith and Ministry Compliance Agreement
