Job Summary
Own monthly close, financial statements, and reporting for leadership visibility. Lead job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and profitability reporting by project while managing AR/AP workflows, billing, and vendor payables. Drive cash flow planning, forecasting, and internal controls to support project execution and growth. Partner with PMs to improve cost tracking, variance analysis, and project financial discipline. Support annual audit/tax coordination and evaluate systems for process improvement. Requires 4+ years of controller experience with construction accounting background, strong Excel skills, and local presence in Mansfield, CT.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in accounting/finance leadership (Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager with full close ownership)
- Permanent U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship)
- Local to Mansfield, CT area and able to work on-site
- College degree (Accounting/Finance); equivalent experience welcomed
Desired Qualifications
- Construction accounting experience: job costing, WIP, progress billing, change order impacts, project margin tracking
- Strong Excel skills and comfort building clean, repeatable reporting
- Experience managing small accounting teams or owning end-to-end accounting operations
- Construction ERP/accounting system experience preferred (any of: Sage, Viewpoint, Jonas, QuickBooks Enterprise, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders
