Job Summary
Lead and oversee the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, banking, cash management, and tax-related activities. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, DVM production reports, budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses, ensuring monthly reports are completed and distributed by the 20th of each month. Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls while maintaining records in accordance with GAAP. Manage and approve monthly bank reconciliations, lead the annual budgeting process, and maintain cash forecasts. Monitor expenses, support pricing strategies, and help clinic leaders understand their financial performance through scorecards and KPIs. Direct tax compliance activities and manage relationships with bankers, insurers, vendors, and outside accounting professionals. Provide leadership and development for the Finance Department team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- At least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Previous business management or financial leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks in a multi-location or multi-class environment
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience managing and analyzing large, complex data sets
- Experience leading, developing, and holding direct reports accountable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and nonfinancial leaders

- Experience in a multi-location healthcare, veterinary, retail, or service-based organization
