Job Summary
Controller is responsible for payroll and accounts payable management, general ledger integrity, adherence to GAAP, and preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. The role includes managing Finance Department personnel, developing reporting to measure productivity and quality, maintaining internal controls and SOPs, overseeing payroll and payables systems, month-end journal entries, lease accounting, and supporting annual audits and regulatory/tax filings. The position requires collaboration with leadership to support budgeting, OT management, and strategic planning, and entails leveraging data analytics to drive improvements while ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, required)
- 8 years accounting experience (Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements: 8 years of accounting experience, minimum)
- 2 years of management experience (Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements: 2 years of management experience)
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional team approach and effective leadership
- Strong ability to develop and nurture working relationships internally and externally
- Conflict management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel competency
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards applicable to the organization
- Experience with payroll systems and accounts payable processes
- Experience with general ledger maintenance
- Financial reporting and budgeting experience
- Month-end close and reconciliation processes
- Audit participation with internal and external teams
- Familiarity with Brightree or healthcare-related accounting software
- Ability to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams
