Job Summary
Lead and manage the full accounting function as a hands-on Controller for a well-established, 45+-year-old company. Oversee daily accounting operations, GL integrity and timely financial reporting; drive month-end and year-end closes; optimize ERP and financial reporting systems; partner with external CPA firm on tax reporting, audits and compliance; develop budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes; provide actionable financial insights to ownership; mentor and develop accounting staff; and support growth initiatives and scalable operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years of accounting team leadership or supervisory experience
- Hands-on expertise with month-end close, general ledger (GL) management, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Experience partnering with external CPA firms for tax compliance and reporting
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Sage preferred), Excel, and financial reporting or dashboard tools
- Strong communicator able to translate complex financial data for leadership and support strategic business decisions
