Job Summary
Own the full general ledger, month-end and year-end close process, and prepare accurate GAAP financial statements for a scaling power infrastructure EPC contractor. Lead percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, WIP schedules, and job cost-to-complete forecasting across active projects while producing management reporting packages for the CEO. Partner with Project Controls and Estimating to maintain accurate job cost codes, integrate field systems like Trimble HeavyJob, and drive discipline on change order accounting. Manage cash forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital optimization including AR, AP, and retainage. Design and implement internal controls, oversee tax filings and surety submissions, and select accounting systems as the company grows. Serve as a trusted advisor on financial strategy, capital structure, and risk for the Founder & CEO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 3–5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role
- Direct experience with construction or EPC accounting
- Percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- WIP (Work in Progress)
- Job costing
- Progress billing
- Proven ability to own the full close process
