Job Summary
Hands-on Controller for a manufacturing client responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control. Oversees monthly/quarterly close with journal entries, variance analysis, and preparation of internal financial statements and operational reports; communicates monthly results to division management; prepares weekly operational reports and ad hoc analyses; handles quarterly sales tax remittance, inventory cycle counts, fixed asset accounting and depreciation, and coordination with external auditors; prepares annual 1099s for all divisions. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Syteline ERP is a plus. In-person role located in Rochester, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 7+ years of experience with a strong preference in a manufacturing environment/cost accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Hands-on experience with month and year-end close, and general ledger
- Knowledge in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
- Advanced Excel (i.e., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.); experience with Syteline ERP system is a plus
