Controller

Controller responsible for leading the close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) and providing accurate financial reporting for a spine/orthopedic medical device manufacturing organization. Key duties include overseeing general accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and maintenance of internal controls; managing manufacturing accounting (inventory, standard costing, COGS variances, overhead allocation, and manufacturing close); ensuring accurate accounting for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and specialized inventories (e.g., consignment inventory, instrument sets, loaner trays, field inventory); partnering with operations, supply chain, and commercial leadership to improve visibility into gross margin, inventory movement, working capital, and product-line performance; supporting product lifecycle matters such as obsolescence, slow-moving inventory, scrap, and product transitions; maintaining and enhancing internal controls and policies in a regulated manufacturing environment; supporting external audits and readiness for financial statement audits; driving budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning; supporting ERP and process enhancements impacting manufacturing and inventory accuracy; leading and developing accounting staff; and providing leadership with clear reporting on margin performance, inventory turns, reserves, and operational efficiency.
