Job Summary
Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients, transforming their financial departments to support their missions. Manage financial reporting for management and Board decision-making, while recommending improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies. Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, receivables, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers. Conduct analysis, data visualization, budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and funder reporting. Prepare for and manage annual audits, and provide client and staff training. Work with clients, staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees regularly in a hybrid environment. Standard 35-hour work week; base salary $100,000–$125,000. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required with 5–7 years experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7 plus years accounting experience
- Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis
- Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems
- Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Experience working in a remote environment
- Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience
- CPA certification
- Bilingual-English/Spanish
