Job Summary

Manage cash flow by preparing accurate statements, monitoring receivables and payables, and ensuring timely deposits. Monitor hotel revenues and expenses against budget variances, analyze financial data to advise management, and reconcile all balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations. Direct the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and capital plans while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Establish and audit internal financial controls across purchasing, cash handling, inventories, payroll, and employee records. Recruit, train, and supervise accounting staff, including Directors and Assistant Controllers, while implementing Key Competencies and development programs. Maintain regulatory licenses, permits, leases, and operational tax compliance to safeguard owner assets.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related field
  • 4-year college degree with an Accounting/ Finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience
  • 2-year college degree and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience
  • Proficiency in Windows
  • Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in word processing
  • Proficiency in the operation of all hotel-specific systems
  • Warm and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
  • Ability to communicate with all level of employees and guests
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotels Standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Willingness to wear nametags
  • Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Ability to participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
