Job Summary
Controller leading finance for high-growth startup clients, owning full-cycle accounting, payroll/benefits administration, and operational finance while building scalable processes and mentoring onshore/offshore teams. You’ll manage monthly close, deliver decision-ready financials, translate results for founders, implement systems and controls, and serve as primary contact for auditors and tax partners. You’ll own both technical and operational accounting (payroll/benefits), build finance processes in growing companies, and collaborate with founders/operators in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong accounting foundation (CPA a plus, not required)
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments (critical)
- Proven ability to own both accounting AND operational finance
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
- Systems-oriented thinker who enjoys building and improving processes
- Clear communicator who can work directly with founders
- Experience with payroll, benefits, and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Gusto, Rippling, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting (close, reconciliations, reporting)
