Job Summary
Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, grants accounting, cash management, and account reconciliations. Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and executive reports. Lead the annual financial statement audit, Single Audit, and other regulatory audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, HRSA requirements, and Federal Uniform Guidance. Partner with Finance leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making while supervising and mentoring accounting staff. This Controller role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, a multi-site non-profit providing care throughout the Merrimack Valley.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience leading annual financial statement audits and preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, healthcare finance, grants accounting, and regulatory compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or healthcare experience
