Job Summary
As our first dedicated accounting hire, you will own core accounting operations end-to-end (monthly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, tax, and technical accounting) and set up the controls and processes that strengthen our financial foundation as we scale. You will design and document the accounting function, drive technical accounting decisions across revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and multi-entity reporting, evaluate and implement scalable tools/ERP systems, and partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate, timely financials, sound contracts, pricing, and financial controls. This role emphasizes building infrastructure the team will inherit and scaling the function as the company grows; the team is described as small, nimble, and high-autonomy with emphasis on rigorous financial stewardship and rapid execution.
Required Qualifications
- CPA with 5–10 years of accounting experience, including Big 4 or equivalent audit experience
- Experience implementing modern financial systems and ERPs (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, Bill, Rippling, or similar)
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP, financial controls, and technical accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Track record of moving quickly and delivering on goals
