Job Summary
Controller sought to lead accounting operations for DA Everett Construction Group across Raleigh and Charlotte. Responsible for accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance; partners with executive leadership and project teams to support operational success and growth. Oversees AP/AR, job costing, payroll, GL; ensures timely monthly/quarterly/year-end reporting; maintains internal controls; mentors the accounting team; collaborates with project management for accurate job costing, forecasting, and budgeting; manages construction-specific accounting processes including WIP, revenue recognition, and subcontractor compliance; reviews pay applications, invoices, and contract-related documentation; leads cash flow, banking relationships, and works with external accountants for tax, audits, and reviews; supports strategic planning and financial analysis; continuous improvement of Sage 100 and Procore.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
- 3–5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry
- Experience with construction accounting systems; Sage 100 and Procore required
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- Deep understanding of contracts, subcontractor agreements, insurance, and lien laws
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
