Job Summary
Manage the general ledger, oversee month-end and year-end close processes, and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements. Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions while implementing robust accounting policies and procedures. Monitor cash flow, administer treasury operations, and optimize the company's cash position through effective management strategies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including tax filings and annual audits. Lead and mentor the accounting and payroll team, setting performance goals and providing coaching to support career growth. This fully remote position requires working 8:30am – 5pm in the Central time zone. The Controller reports to the SVP of Finance and partners with leadership across functions to shape financial policies and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 12 years of experience in accounting or finance
- At least 4 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills and technological proficiency
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- High level of integrity and ethical standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite of products including Outlook and Teams
- Able to work effectively in a primarily remote environment
- Home internet must support a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps
- Cable, Fiber, or DSL connections hardwired to the internet device
- Employees must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
- Must be able to work 8:30am – 5pm in the Central time zone
Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Experience specifically with NetSuite
- Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in value-based care or managed care organizations
