Job Summary
Lead day-to-day accounting operations for Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense, overseeing general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, payroll, fixed assets, leases, and inventory. Drive the monthly close process, review journal entries and account reconciliations, and provide guidance on complex US GAAP matters including revenue recognition and reserves. Build and sustain a scalable accounting organization by hiring, coaching, and managing talent while implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain strong financial controls, support external audits, and lead accounting due diligence for potential acquisitions. Own cash and working capital oversight, ensuring timely filings and compliance across all balance sheet areas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience
- Leadership responsibility
- Experience leading accounting operations and month-end close in a manufacturing or project-based environment
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong knowledge of internal controls
- Strong knowledge of core accounting processes
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and improving the performance of others
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and strengthen operating discipline
- Strong Excel and accounting systems capability
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ownership
- Self-starter who can work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Desired Qualifications
- Finance degree
- Prior experience leading accounting operations and month-end close in a manufacturing or project-based environment
- CPA
- CMA
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or finance systems improvements
