Job Summary
Plant Controller overseeing plant-level financial operations in a Birmingham, AL facility, including month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing variance analysis. Partners with plant leadership to drive cost improvements, support strategic decision-making, ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance, and oversee capital investment analysis. Requires manufacturing-finance experience and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, manufacturing finance, and month-end close
- Experience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit support
- ERP system experience required, with SAP strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, slicers, and data analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Experience with reporting and financial tools such as Power BI, Longview, BOBJ, and Serrala is preferred; SuccessFactors experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and meet deadlines
