Job Summary

Own the operating system of Engine's accounting function by raising the talent bar, ensuring the integrity of the close, and accelerating automation. Clarify decision rights across the leadership team to reduce unnecessary escalation and move priorities quickly from discussion to execution. Build a high-performing unit that operates with strong judgment and independence, developing managers and addressing capability gaps directly. Scale existing AI and automation to apply to reconciliations, anomaly detection, and management visibility, ensuring headcount grows slower than transaction volume. Modernize the already-disciplined 5-day close to be cleaner, faster, and less manual by strengthening ownership across revenue, AR, payroll, tax, and consolidations. Serve as a senior decision-maker across complex accounting and operational issues, making well-reasoned calls with imperfect information while driving cross-functional resolution with Product, Finance, and Systems teams. Prepare the function for the next phase of growth by anticipating where today's processes will break at tomorrow's scale and addressing those constraints early.
