Job Summary
Controller oversees the Accounting function as the senior Accounting leader, maintaining hands-on ownership while partnering with the CEO and department heads. Responsible for leading monthly/annual close, financial statement preparation, and reporting to executives; managing AR, AP, purchasing, invoicing, collections, and procurement; cash flow management, rolling forecasts, and risk communication; leading annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts; ensuring regulatory and tax compliance and managing relationships with external CPA, banking, and compliance vendors; and developing the finance team (including an Accounting Manager). The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 10+ years of progressive experience, with ERP experience (Sage Intacct, ConnectWise) and advanced Excel skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including full finance function ownership in a mid-market environment
- Proven ability to operate strategically and hands-on; comfortable setting direction and doing the work
- Service-based business experience; IT services, managed services, or telecom background a plus
- Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, ConnectWise, or equivalent
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, integrity, and internal controls
