Job Summary

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting for the Dilfo Group of Companies, preparing ASPE-compliant statements and analyzing construction Work-in-Progress schedules. Oversee project accounting across construction, plumbing, and HVAC operations, reviewing contract values, margins, and change orders while investigating significant variances. Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, supporting operational decisions through financial analysis and risk assessment. Provide leadership and oversight for Finance, Human Resources, and Payroll functions, ensuring accurate payroll processing and statutory compliance. Coordinate external audits, tax matters, and banking relationships, while continuously improving ERP systems and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Significant construction industry accounting experience
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing construction WIP schedules
  • Experience managing month-end financial close and reporting
  • Strong experience with construction job costing
  • Strong experience with project accounting
  • Strong experience with revenue recognition
  • Previous experience supervising or managing accounting staff
  • Experience overseeing payroll
  • CPA designation
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting
  • Strong knowledge of WIP reporting
  • Strong knowledge of job costing
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables and financial data analysis
  • Strong proficiency with ERP, accounting and job-cost systems
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements
  • Ability to prepare and interpret budgets
  • Ability to prepare and interpret forecasts
  • Ability to prepare and interpret management reporting
  • Working knowledge of taxation
  • Working knowledge of payroll
  • Working knowledge of statutory remittances
  • Working knowledge of financial compliance requirements
  • Experience with banking
  • Experience with bonding
  • Experience with multi-company operations
  • Experience with financial process improvement
  • Experience with unionized construction payroll
  • Experience with related remittances
  • Occasional travel to company locations
  • Occasional travel to project sites
  • Occasional travel to external meetings
  • May occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours to support month-end
