Controller, Corporate Accounting & Finance

Job Summary
Supervise accounting staff and oversee corporate bank accounts, including fund transfers, check approvals, and signing. Assist in budget preparation for the Corporation, Land Projects, Rental Properties, and Grants/Contracts; review and approve payroll registers, fringe benefits, and tax worksheets. Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and payment systems while preparing and submitting personal property taxes. Monitor indirect costs, analyze data, and prepare proposals. Maintain internal control systems, prepare required regulatory reports, and coordinate annual corporate audits. Review trial balances, prepare adjusting journal entries, and manage corporate funds to maximize leverage. Attend corporate meetings and training sessions to update knowledge of accounting systems and fiscal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business or Accounting
- Minimum of three years management experience in a comparable environment
- Must possess a valid California driver's license, automobile liability insurance and have access to a reliable vehicle
- Familiarity with Federal GAAP accounting principles
- Familiarity with non-profit and cost accounting
- Experience in and general knowledge of, personal computers with a high level of proficiency using Excel, Word, MAS90 or equivalent accounting Software
- Ability to analyze data with successful results
- Ability to work effectively as a representative of PSHHC and the Executive Director to government agencies and the general public
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to get along with fellow workers
Desired Qualifications
- CPA license preferred
