Job Summary
Controller with senior accounting leadership for a construction/subcontractor, overseeing AP/AR/payroll/general ledger, job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition; partners with Project Managers/Estimators on budgets, change orders, and billing; leads month-end/quarter-end/year-end close, GAAP-compliant financial statements, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and multi-state tax compliance; establishes internal controls and scalable processes; mentors accounting team and collaborates cross-functionally; requires construction accounting expertise, a bachelor’s in accounting or finance (CPA a plus), 7–10 years of experience, and proficiency with Excel and Sage/Viewpoint Spectrum.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA is a plus
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
- construction accounting experience (GC or subcontractor) with job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting under GAAP
- experience managing month-end close and financial statements
- leadership experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff
- advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage or Viewpoint Spectrum
