Job Summary
Own day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Maintain job cost accounting to track project budgets, variances, and profitability. Prepare timely financial statements, manage client AIA and T&M billing, and oversee subcontractor compliance and vendor payments. Lead budgeting and forecasting in partnership with ownership, coordinate tax reporting and external audits, and establish internal controls to safeguard assets. Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and mentor the accounting and administrative staff. Provide financial analysis to support ownership's strategic decisions. This hands-on leadership role offers a seasoned controller or a talented accountant ready to step up within a premier Long Island City general contractor specializing in luxury residential and hospitality renovations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- 5 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- meaningful time in construction
- preferably with a general contractor
- Strong command of construction accounting
