Job Summary
Controller overseeing all accounting activities, including budget oversight, financial reporting systems, and leading the Finance Team. Responsibilities include implementing consistent accounting policies across programs, developing internal controls to protect assets, providing comprehensive financial updates, guiding financial decisions, and ensuring compliance with local and national standards. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, 7-12+ years of accounting/finance experience with 3-5 years in leadership, manufacturing accounting experience, bilingual Spanish/English, and strong cost accounting, inventory control, and ERP/Excel skills. Preferred CPA/CMA and Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience. Live in Montgomery, AL area; role is on-site with standard manufacturing finance duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role
- Manufacturing accounting experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required
- Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and standard costing methodologies
- Experience with inventory control and variance analysis
- Understanding of plant-level financial reporting and operational KPIs
- Proven budgeting and forecasting experience
- Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience
- Preferred: CPA
- Preferred: CMA
- Experience in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment
