Controller

Senior Controller for project-based AEC firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lead and oversee the accounting function including month-end and year-end close; manage GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management; develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls; oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and variance reporting; prepare internal, external, and regulatory financial reports; perform financial analysis and partner with senior leadership/CFO on financial planning; manage tax compliance and audits; ensure regulatory compliance; recruit and mentor a high-performing accounting team. Requires direct AEC experience, hands-on or strategic leadership style, and strong GAAP expertise. Software experience preferred: Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, Ajera, Sage 300 CRE/Sage Timberline/Viewpoint Vista/Spectrum, CMiC; advanced Excel; experience with integrated accounting/project management systems. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; 10+ years in accounting leadership; CPA preferred but not required. Hybrid or in-office structure in SF Bay Area depending on firm.
