Job Summary
Oversee the accounting function for the credit union, ensuring General Ledger integrity, GAAP compliance, and NCUA regulatory reporting. Establish internal controls, manage the annual budget process, and lead the accounting team through hiring and succession planning. Serve as the primary liaison for external and internal audits while monitoring balance sheet liquidity and BSA/AML policies. Lead initiatives impacting accounting systems and financial processes to drive efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 3+ years in accounting department with staff management experience
- Proven knowledge and proficiency with General Ledger oversight, cash management, investment accounting, and other Accounting related functions
- Excellent technical skills
- Ability to identify inefficiencies
- Ability to plan and implement strategies to improve efficiencies through automation and other means
- Excellent listening and speaking skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ensure adherence to BSA/AML and OFAC policies within the Accounting function
