Job Summary
Controller role leading accounting, financial reporting, payroll/timekeeping, and billing in an employee-owned GovCon/A&D environment. Oversees month-end close, GAAP-compliant reporting, DCAA/DCMA audit readiness, ASC 606 application for government contracts, and ESOP accounting. Manages a mid-sized accounting team, enhances internal control frameworks, and drives process improvements for complex contract structures (FFP, CPFF, T&M) across multiple offices (Tucson, AZ; Falls Church, VA; Niwot, CO; Northridge, CA). Ensures compliance with ASC 606, FAR, DCAA, and related tax and licensing requirements; collaborates with Stock Administration for ESOP transactions; ensures accurate labor cost allocation and bid/profitability analysis. Requires US citizenship and successful background/security checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- 4+ years managing accounting functions in GovCon/A&D
- Knowledge of ESOP accounting (preferred)
- Experience applying ASC 606 in project-based/percentage-of-completion environments
- Understanding of FAR compliance and DCAA timekeeping rules
- Experience with GovCon ERP/timekeeping platforms (Deltek Costpoint preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills
