Job Summary

The Assistant Controller will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, process various transactions including general ledger and payroll, and oversee accounts payable functions. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements for multiple entities, managing fixed asset modules, conducting cash forecasts, and analyzing P&L variances. The ideal candidate will possess strong GAAP knowledge, accounting experience, and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and improve accounting processes.

  • 6-8+ years accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Strong accounting skills

  • Efficient in Excel
  • Effective communication and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of the balance sheet

  • Intercompany
  • Bank debt
  • Deferred rent
  • Self-sufficient and able to take instructions and work independently
  • Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and propose journal entries

Desired Qualifications

  • Restaurant, retail and/or multi-unit experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Great Plains and Accpac
