Job Summary
Prepare financial statements, reports, and journal entries for all corporate entities while managing the general accounting, payroll, and accounts payable sections. Direct and supervise department staff, assign projects, and maintain daily and monthly routines to ensure accurate record-keeping and internal controls. Plan and coordinate the annual operating and capital budget, oversee year-end external audits, and develop systems to monitor department operations and reduce costs. Review financial data for management, ensure compliance with policies, and implement staff development plans to meet performance objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting
- Five to seven years of accounting experience
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Two to three years of directly related experience in the healthcare field or in the public accounting field performing audits
- Experience in a multi-corporate organization with in-house computer systems
- Oral and written communication ability sufficient to train and supervise staff and interact with other departments
- Excellent analytical, prioritization and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Strong word processing skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and judgment skills
- Ability to deal with other departments to resolve problems and ensure accurate scheduling and financial information
- Sound character
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting preferred
- Five to seven years of accounting experience is preferred
- Three years should be in a supervisory position
- Two to three years of directly related experience in the healthcare field or in the public accounting field performing audits is highly desirable
- Experience in a multi-corporate organization with in-house computer systems is preferred
- PowerPoint skills preferred
